Initiative for Diabetics

With an objective to ensure quality life for a diabetic Reach World Wide launched an initiative to promote healthy lifestyle for diabetic patients. Good control of diabetes significantly reduces the risk of developing complications and prevents complications from getting worse. As per a recent study diabetes costs $174 billion annually, including $116 billion in direct medical expenses.

Can amputation be prevented?
International Diabetic Federation Survey (IDF) 2005 statistics states that, in each 30 seconds one human being is amputated. Even after amputation the wound ulcers may appear in another limb leading to secondary amputation. Though trillions of dollars have been spent for medical research for diabetic health care, but incidence of diabetic and complication have increased.
The fact is there are ways to prevent a diabetic patient from reaching an amputation stage. Reach World Wide’s goal with this initiative is to promote quality life for a diabetic and prevent amputation.
